portrait project

For my portrait project my concept will be through the decades with one of each of my photos representing a decade through the 1930s to the 1980s. My image for 1930s will be shot in the studio with Morgan as my model. I will be putting a lot of emphasis on dark lips and have very simple looking fashion with dark clothing and hopefully a trench coat, she will be wearing a hat as well. I want the photo to be on the white backdrop and it to be shot close in on her face. I want the lighting to be relatively dim so there are stark shadows on her face as well as the photo being in black and white. For 1940s I will be using Abby as my model and she will be wearing a longish colorful dress. The dress will be inspired by the time period and I will edit the photo to have faded colors. She will be inspired from the housewife look from that period leading into the 50s. I want the photo to show the majority of her body if not the whole thing and for it to be shot on the white background as well. For the image inspired by the 50s I will be shooting an out of studio image of my friend on the beach in a swimsuit that matches the time. I chose to shoot on the beach because when i think of the 50s that comes into mind, also the person I'm shooting spends the majority of her time on the beach so it seems very fitting for her. For the 60s i will be getting clothing that looks like the intellectuals of that time period with dark colored turtlenecks and stuff. I will be shooting in a coffee shop because the person I'm shooting is very coffee obsessed so you would frequently find her in a coffee shop. I want there to be natural lighting and want the light to look a bit dark to catch the shadows. Im choosing to make everything look a bit darker because during the 60s there was a lot of struggle with war and fights for peace. My photo for the 70s will be shot with the model (most likely my sister) in very 70s looking clothing with a deadpan expression, this will be an environmental portrait and this theme works for my sister because she frequently wears this type of clothing. I will also plan to use a 1970' pontiac firebird in the photo because it is something you would find in that decade. I want natural lighting and for the photo to be shot in a very barren location (if I can find one). My final photo will be inspired by the 1980s and will be shot in studio. I have not figured out who my model will be at this point but i plan to use the gels to create very interesting and fun colorful lighting. My model will be wearing very fun spunky clothes and I would like the clothing to be similar to those in tacky 80s music videos.
