I want my portraits to express great emotion. I want to picture people with genuine emotion and how they feel throughout the day. I want to have my lighting in the studio express the emotion I am trying to express. I want to express the emotions anger, sadness, and joy. With joy I want to use a nice bright background and have very natural lighting to show the genuine feeling of joy. My out of studio shot will be of my model in an environment that gives them joy on an everyday basis. For my anger shot I think I will use a red background to express the feeling of blood coursing through our veins when we get extremely angry. My out of studio shot will show my model in a very rage inducing situation. My sadness one will be on a black background with dark lighting. My out of studio shot will be someone sad over the loss of a loved one or something that would show genuine sadness. I think this idea has a lot of potential and I can't wait to start shooting.
