I believe this image is very successful in many different aspects. This image shows Variety in my eyes. There are so manny different aspects of this photo that contribute to it being Variety. The image just makes you look all around and notice all the features. This is just a beautiful image of nature.

I  like this photo because it shows Unity. All the elements mix together very well making one great photo.  Also it shows my favorite season of the year, winter!

I think this photo is successful because it has bright colors and it pleasing to the eye.  I think it shows variety because there's different colored flowers but so many of the same flowers.  I think it shows movement because the flowers make your eyes move around the picture and look at all the flowers.  This photo shows emphasis on the red flowers because the white and pink are more neutral and the red flowers pop out.

I like this photo because to me it represents a father's love for his little girls.  It represents symmetry.
I can relate to this because my Dad would take us to the beach when me and my little sister were little spur the moment and my mop wouldn't mind as long as our hair didn't get wet. Which I feel is the same story for this photo. Wayne Lawrence

Jail Cell-Ruth Conner

I like this image by Micha Baram because it makes me think about the things going on in the picture. The shadow of bars and the way this man is dressed implies that he is in prison. There happens to be a small skylight with bars across it and the man is longingly looking out of it, as if in deep thought, wanting a different life. The mood of this photo is gloomy and depressing. This photo makes me have sympathy for the man trapped in a cell. The look in his eyes is so innocent and harmless. It also shows that his only source of "light" is through that skylight, which makes me think he has lost hope.

successful photo

This photo shows pattern, a principle of design. Besides the bottom right blue thing, the photo is exactly the same. Also, the photo shows balance. It is nice to look at.

This photo embodies many different principles of design including: unity, symmetry, and movement.  The bricks are equal on either side of the rooster, standing in the middle representing symmetry.  Your eye moves from the red on its beak and then moves up and back into the painted portion of the background, then proceeding to circle it, illustrating movement.   Unity also could be used to describe this image as the chicken stands out, while simultaneously blending into the colorful background, creating a unified scene.  The bright red colors of the rooster and paint go well together making this image pleasant to look at and in my opinion very successful.

this photo is balance it is asymmetrical because on one side the doll has makeup and on the other it doesn't. I like this photo because in my opinion it is showing how society makes women wear makeup because they are not "pretty" enough which is a lie beauty isn't all about the outside its also in the inside. this photo shows that you don't have to wear makeup to be pretty you are pretty without it.

Cheetah by Francesca Yorke

I really liked this picture for many reasons.  By making the image black and white, the cheetah  seemingly has less power and is less ferocious.  The photographer, Francecsa Yorke, choose to shoot down on the cheetah, making the cheetah appear to be meek.  The image also exhibits the principle of movement.  The spots creates a visual path for your eye to follow.  The spots start large at the top of his head and then become smaller towards the nose.  This could almost be repetition and pattern.  The spots are pervasive throughout the image and the spots shrink in size as your eye moves further away from the top of the his head. It is also almost emphasis because the cheetah is unmistakably the center of attention.

Mabel Smith
I like this picture because it shows unity is a very interesting way. The picture shows a very youthful and girly setting, which is relatable to me. My eye travels around the room starting at the sheen from the velvet dress and ending ending at the black shelf in the back. This picture depicts unity because there is a doll in the back that is a doll sized figure of the real model. The image grabs your attention by reminding you of the model with the doll.

This photo shows the emphasis of the dominant predator. There are many baitfish around the shark. The baitfish are swimming from the main predator. In certain ways this shows emphasis with in unity. The colors are all matching in the same spectrum of colors. But the shark stands out as being a natural contrast in colors. The shark has also formed a ball or circle of baitfish around him, Yes I am assuming it's gender :)

This photo is movement/rhythm because you can hear the picture being taken. And when you first look at the picture your eye moves all around the picture, it doesn't stay in one place. Plus, it shows like the dark side of the world and the light side like the heavens. The lighting in the sky and the water splashing around really makes the image pop.

Sparks - Sarah Sawyer

I think this is a really good photo because I like how he blurred the sparks of the fire, so the viewer can still realize the focus is on the people. The sparks make a nice touch because it makes the picture feel more warm. I think how close the photographer is to the models makes the photo seem much more real and captures the moment nicely. This is a good example of unity because everything is coming back to the one spot of the people in the photo.

I like this photo and the concept it presents because it shows how much dancers concentrate and work hard for a performance.  My favorite moments ever as a dancer were the moments right before you performed.  That moment when all of the endless hours of practice and the sore bodies and endless memorization pays off.   I love the emotion on each face, especially the guy in the photo because he is so concentrated on what's happening on the stage and I love that because as a dancer you're constantly supporting one another.  My favorite expression would have to be the girl farthest to the left.  She seems to be calming her nerves, taking that couple seconds before she goes on to breathe.  I think it sums up the feelings and experience of performing.  I think it is beautiful compositionally as well.  There is emphasis with the pink leotards.  As well as balance with the black and the pink.  Overall, I think the composition is great.

This is "Sunrise Illumination" by Jon Kolkin. The Image itself is stunning. There are many principals of design in this photo. You eye moves along the sand bay and across the water. The water looks extremely balanced, there is not a ripple in the water. The photo works in unity, it all just goes together and fits perfectly. The emphasis of this picture has to be the water, I noticed it immediately when i opened this picture.

Chinese Effle Tower

This photo would be used as symmetry. You could fold the picture in half and they would be the same on both sides. I really like this photo because of the angle.  I also really like the colors. I like the color of the sky because it makes the tower pop out more.  I also thought she had good proportion because the whole tower looks even. It also looks good because you can see  The Photographer is Catherine Hyland.

Shipwreck

This image has 2 principles is design. This is variety because there are many different colors,  contrast, and shapes. Such as, the wall an the boat they are different shapes. The other principle of design is proportion because the kid is being compared to the size of the boat. This image shows the kid holding up a toy ship trying to help. But, he can't so he is doing everything he is capable of doing.    Also there are many parts of the photo with the color of red. Such as the kids sweat shirt, the light house, and the to of the ship.

Riding in the water

I think this image is trying to make you feel calm and peaceful. I feel like unity is represented in this image well. I think that because of how the edges of the image is different colored and the way the horse is moving. The artists name is Tom Chambers. To me it the image feels almost serene because of the water and the birds in the background. The title of the photo is Mare Liberum. Movement could also be an element in this photo because it looks like the horse is in the middle of splashing.

Alexa Steitz

I like this picture because of all of the different, natural colors that blend together. I think this photo is interesting because you don't see this animal on your average stroll on the streets. This photo is taken by Daniel Augscholl.

Mountain Lion

The principle of design is asymmetry this picture of a Mountain Lion. Each side of this is completely different from the other ,and the colors even differ from side to side, their is no way you could cut this in half and half mirror images. It can also be proportion because the camera angle is not distorting any of the features and their size.

By Brad Wilson
I believe that the concept of the image is to show the repetition that is shown in the image. The repetition of the arches and the light that comes out of the windows make a great repetition that goes backwards and forwards from my eye.  The absence of color in the image make me focus on the light repetition and I can also focus on the arches that repeat. That is what I think makes this a good photo. This image was taken by Geir Jordahl.

balloons

Most people relate a stroller to something playful due to the fact that one is usually used by someone who is young. The balloons creation of a happier scenery throughout the image, adds on to the juvenile affect of the stroller. The balloons make this image more vibrant and lively than it already is. This image represents emphasis because a majority of the image is blue or shades of it contrasts with the brightness of the variety of balloons.

Artist name: Justin Visnesky

I believe this photo is successful because of the use of contrasting colors. The green is a lot brighter than the light color of the sky, clouds, and reflection on the water. The pattern of the cement blocks along with the perspective of the photo. It creates movement because your eye follows the water to the horizon then follows the horizon line to the left. The asymmetry makes a 90 degree angle out of the sky and water which just leaves the grass. It creates feelings of peace and a cool morning but also has a tinge of mystery as to why this odd stream and cement blocks exists with a field next to it. It also makes you wonder what's in the horizon.

This photo is very succesful because it has a lot of unity and the colors work well together tying the yellow in the sky nicely with the yellow on the building. There is also a lot of variety in the colors and shapes. I really like how everything is very proporionate and everything seems to work very well together in this photo.  I think it is trying to convey that there can be excitement in simplicity, by taking a simple photo of a building and making it interesting with colors and shapes it makes this message more clear. This photos owner and name has been lost due to my stupidity.
this one was my worst photo because it was blurry and it wasn't my favorite i could have done better.

The Photo with problems

Out of all the pictures that I edited for my candid project, this one was the one that has some problems with it. The picture doesn't have too much going on and you can't really see the person working or what they are working on. I do like the angle but the colors are a little bland. The computer is very out of focus and most people won't really be able to tell what the subject of the picture is working on. To make this picture better, I should have brought out the color on the computer more and maybe changed my angle of were I took the picture.

I think that this is my worst photo because of the distracting body in the background. There would be more focus on the two girls and it'd be easier to enjoy the fun happening. The mysterious body creates conflict with what the main point which is the two girls. I feel that this picture would even be better if the face was shown.

Ruth's Bad Photo

This is a bad picture because, it is blurry and out of focus. There are random and unnecessary people in the background. The tree in the shot is half in and half out. The natural light is grey and dull. When you look at this shot, it is visually uninteresting; there is nothing to draw you in.

Worst Photo

I don't like this photo because the photo is shot at an awkward angle.  Her head, her phone and her computer is cutoff.  Also the colors don't coordinate.  I feel I have stronger images than this one.   This picture is uncomfortable to look at.
Worse for last

This picture sucks because I added too much coloration. Also I showed too much of the environment. I was in a rush making me not want to take my time.  I should have stood still in stead of moving. This picture is my worse picture in my candids.

How my worst candid could have improved?

In my opinion, this is my worst candid. Out of all my photos in this project, this one needs the most improvement. To improve this photo I should've focused the camera more. If the quality of the photo was better, the viewer of the photo would be able to see Mr. Crider's expression more clearly. With the improving suggestions and better editing, the picture would've been a better candid and a better photo.

This picture could've been better because the lighting could've been better. It couldn't have been as blurry. I could've focused the camera better and the picture could've come out better. Next time i take another candid like this I'll make sure i focus the camera and make sure it has better lighting.

Worst Photo from Candid project

This is my worst photo because I didn't edit it that much, so it doesn't have the same sort of affect as the others. I didn't really like any of the edits that I tried on this photo. They all made the photo look a lot worse than the original, I think next time I will take the shot from a different angle or just make the photo black and white.

This is my worst photo. I tried to experiment with different photoshop edits. This picture is unique yet did not work out as I planned. It made it blurry. This picture was also quickly taken so that made it a little blurry as well. The lighting is off and that something I would like to try to improve my knowledge on, (lighting).

This is my worst picture because I took the picture at the wrong time. She is landing her cartwheel and it looks really awkward. I also over edited it because there wasn't good lighting, so it looks too green. Its not a good angle either.

Ashton's Worst Photo

This is my worst and least favorite photo of this collection.  I turned down the orange in order to make the fur less vibrant, but it doing so it made the picture seem dull.  While trying to turn the pink up to make the collar more vibrant, it only made the nail polish look brighter.  I could fix this picture by shooting in a little better lighting and by editing this better.  I would turn the orange up more and then turn the saturation down so that the colors would remain true to their original value, just a little less bright.
This picture is my least favorite because there is no wow factor. I feel like all I did to edit this picture was turn up the saturation. It does not look like a photo that was edited with a computer program. This picture looks like I edited it with the chrome filter on my iPhone. I also do not like the setting that is in the picture. The brick wall provides a boring backgrounds for the brightly colored drink, yellow top, and crisp white shorts.

worst photo - sarah sawyer

This is my worst photo because of the severe red tones in his face. Also the picture is close up, and the flash made it seem like he was redder. The rest of the car looks really dark compared to him, so that also looks awkward. The light in the car window castes a weird greenish light on the left side of the front window. This photo just does not look that good, and the redness is really distracting.

Too much exposure.Angle is not the best.Focusing is not good. There extra object in the photo. It shouldn't use the flashlight.

bad photo

This photo is one of my worst. First off, this photo suffers from poor lighting. The window in the background lets in too much sun light. Second, the quality of the photo is bad because of this. Also, there is not a lot of emotion in this photo. The photo does not focus in on one item in particular. It focuses on multiple different shapes (the lady in the background as well as the laptop).

Alexa's bad photo

I think this is a bad picture because of many things. First of all, the silhouette in the photo is very bad. Second, the lighting is very bad because there are lots of glares. Also, this photo is not centered. I will keep this all in mind next time I take a photo similar to this one.

My worst candid photo Will Goodman

This is my worst candid photo for a couple reasons. One of the reasons this is my worst photo is that I was too far away from the people that I was trying to take a photo to get a clear shot of them. My phone was also not in focus so the picture came out fuzzy and it was not able to capture a clear photo. The photo also had to many people in the shot.  I could have fixed this photograph by walking up the beach a little more to get closer to the people so I could focus on only one family or group of people instead of so many. I could have fixed the photograph by looking at what my phone was taking a photo instead of holding it at my hip and shooting a bunch of photos. This is why this is my worst photo.

This is not my best picture, in my opinion. There is not a lot context to this photo, and it is not completely focused. the brightness of the computer screen in the back is distracting, it takes your eyes off the main subject of the picture (the kid holding the doll). you don't really know what is going on in the picture, at least that's how I see it.

Matthew McCoy Worst

This is my worst picture because in the top left hand corner, there is a glare from the car window. This picture is also to far away so you can not see the picture as clear as I wished. I did not let the camera focus all the way the caused the guy to be fuzzy and not a lot to read the hat. I should be closer to the person so I can get a better picture of him. Also I should have taken the photo outside the car, so that there would be no glare.

Photo Corrections(Timmy Rudolph)

There reason why this candid is so unsuccessful is because there is no focal point or person in front of the camera. I could have gotten closer and have had better timing when the swimmer was passing by. The focus of the photo is on in the background but you focus in the foreground. To fix this i could have gone to the end of the lane and gotten a proper photo is timing and focus. This photo would have been much better have I implemented all of these corrections.

This one was my worst because my eye focuses on the car. Also I focus on the yellow house in the back round. I also focus on the blue flag in the back round. I should of taken the photo from a different angle. I should of shot the picture where you could not see the car or the flag. I also should of taken the picture without the gray wall sticking out.

least successful- Ally Raudenbush

I chose this photo as my least successful because I think I could've showed more emotion or action. Her shoulder is covering her mouth in this which hides some of her expression. Although she has a blank face in this photo it could've added a lot to show her whole face. If I had positioned the camera differently I could've gotten a better angle and a more successful photo. Although I like the distance away from her I don't think having the door frame in the photo is necessary as it distracts from the green that is shown between her shirt and the leaves on the tree.

This is my least successful photo for a few reasons. It is blurry, the focal point is too far away, very small, and doesn't create enough contrast to the green of the grass. Instead of the eye being drawn to the people, it is  drawn to the space between the stop sign and the trees. There is also a random tree trunk next to the sign. In order to recreate this photo in a better way, I would have to move more to the left so I could have the people in center, zoom in or get closer to make them appear bigger and bring out the contrast of the clothing against the green grass, and make sure there are no objects obstructing the view of the people.
This one is probably my least successful photo. I think it is my least successful photo because the girl in the photo has an orange-ish tint on her skin that I couldn't get out when I was editing. Also, the backyard that's in the background is very bright. I feel like since that part is so bright it might have been one of the factors of why the girl in the photo has such an orange-ish tint. Where the girl's elbow is located, there's a really dark section that I thought didn't look good.
