
This image by Grace Weston captures the essence of color in contrast to others. My eye immediately goes from the top corner, down the wallpaper, and to the globe. This was a very successful composition that included both opposing shapes and shading. Also, this image shows the idea of having the worlds problems on your shoulders. Proportion is shown with the woman and the globe on her back. Also, my eye was drawn to her dress which showed emphasis. The brown lines on the wall draw the eye to the tv, which carries the eye to the vacuum.
I see movement, emphasis, and proportion as the principals of design in this photo. I also like how the woman is off center in the photo and the vacuum is. Also if you look closely, some of the countries on the globe match her dress. Lastly, the lines on the wall create movement which help your eye flow through the photo more smoothly.
