Stephen Shore

This photo by Stephen Shore grabs me. I love the way that the light is bleeding through the clouds, and how it shines on the buildings. The angle is well chosen and gives you a great view of the corner. While everything in the scene looks old, this photo could have been taken yesterday and I would believe you. Its crisp, has no artifacts, and is overall just a great image.

Stephen shore favorite photo

This is my favorite Stephen Shore image because of the simplicity of the image and the wester feel that the image has to it. The landscape that the image captures is quite interesting with the large cactus in along with the phone box. I like how the western feel is very evident in it with all the brown in the background and the car that is just sticking out of in the end of the photo. This photo to me just shows the western feel that is very stereotypical and this is what it makes me think of. Although the image is quite simple it makes it a pleasant image to look at with all the different lines going in different directions which is interesting to follow.

Still Life

For the still life project I am combining two concepts into one. I am taking one theme of color blocking and using sharp colors and lines to bring all the photos into unison. In addition to this I will be creating diptychs comparing beginnings/endings or before/after. For example, I will take an ice-cream cone and show on one side the full ice cream cone, and then show it melted on the other. Another example would be a sprout of a plant and then on the other side a dead plant. I will do this while implementing that color scheme as said before.

Still Life

For this upcoming project I wanted to photograph food with ordinary objects.  I want to shoot all my photos in studio to give my images a very clean look. I also want to shoot on very colorful backgrounds to make my images pop.

Still life

For my still life project, I want to do a messy concept. I want to take pictures of food and objects that are meant to be clean and perfect and make them messy. I think that this will show my personality in the way that I am a person with many quirky little facets. Still life is originally clean and perfect but I want to put a twist on this and do something totally different. I want people to look at my pictures for this project and feel a certain mood.
In my still life project I would like to show the creativity of the human mind. I want to stretch the limits and see where people can go when there are limited restrictions. I was inspired by how Laura Letisnky makes photos of spaces that have been used by people. They leave their marks whether they mean to or not and every person is different. I plan to give people common items and have them make something and see where they go and then photograph the results.

Still Life

Still Life Project Artist Statement
For my still life project, I plan on taking pictures of what a garage looks like, without changing anything for the shot. Every garage is different. The amount of light, organization, age, level of care, are all different and can provide many different images. For in studio work, I was planning on taking some of the items from garages create scenes using said objects.

Part 2 Still Life

For this still life project I would like to put a twist on the objects that would make people happy and still using the same object, make it sad or disappointing. Like a kid at his/her birthday party but there is no one there to celebrate or no presents. My goal for this project is for the photos to make people appreciate the little and big things and factors in their life that add up to a happy life. Also I would like to make people realize how different their lives would be if the things that make them happy were shattered or gone. All the good moments and things in life  should be cherished and to convey this fact to people is the main goal of these photos.

Still-Life Project

For my still-life project, I want to go with the theme of oddities. For example, I want to combine items you wouldn't normally combine together, such as putting skittles in seltzer water, or a hairbrush with spaghetti. I chose this theme after much consideration because it is much different than the themes I usually choose to do.

food still life

I think that this photo represents my theme for the food still life the best. My theme for it is to represent the typical family dinner for my family. My mom normally makes something and I make the desert. I actually really like the way the depth perception is and how the cookies fade out. Plus the cookies look delicious and they definitely were.

Food still life

My photos convey how breakfast is made and how messy it is. Life isn't supposed to be clean and perfect and I decided to show this in my picture. This picture, also, shows the fun of making food with your family on a Saturday morning. It shows the homey part of life and family as well. It shows the natural part of life and the little things that matter the most.

still life

In letinsky's photos, she poses many of her photos after dutch paintings. Also in her images she does not pose them cleanly, but usually showing the after effect of a meal. So this image is my best image best it encompasses all of the things that letinsky does in her images. The sheet that the food is on is not clean and is wrinkled just like the sheets that she has in her images. It also shows the aftermath of someone eating the food, which is the same as letinsky's images.

Artist statement for still life project:
For this photo project, I want to shoot images of fishing lures that have water drops on them. I have been enthralled by images of fishing lures that are clean and crisp that look like they had just come out of the water. I also want to shoot fishing lures because for many years I have loved to fish and I enjoy taking images of the lures. I want to shoot all of the images in the shallow depth of field so that the objects are cleanly focused on. For the outside images, I want to shoot the fishing lures on surfaces that compliment the lures colors. For the instudio images, I want to shoot the fishing lures on the black background and I want to play with the shadow that the lights creates on the fishing lures.

still life

For my still life project, I wanted to do something personal. I recently pulled a lot of my childhood books, toys ect from out of the storage unit. I'm currently redoing my room and moving stuff into that storage unit, that's what originally gave me the idea. I somehow still have the first set of makeup that I got, and my first pair of glasses. I plan on using those as well as stuff that I made while I was in elementary school and summer camp. I somehow still have boxes of old horse figurines and a pair of roller blades that I plan to use. I want this to be pretty personal and for all of my photos to have a story behind them.

Food Still Life Artist Statement

I am a firm believer of eating natural fruits. I am against the typical farmer's procedure of spraying the fruits on his/her farm with pesticides. As a little girl I lived on a farm with 62 angus beef cows and wild blackberry bushes growing sporadically around the farm. I would sit on the back of my dads tractor with a pale in my lap and pick the blackberries directly off the bush and pop them in my mouth-there was no need for pesticides. There was and still is not anything like eating fresh ripened fruits-I know from experience.  In my photos I want to convey the beauty of natural fruits and the bold flavor they have before being shipped to the grocery store.

Still life project

For this project, I wanted to explore how lines look when warped in glass.  I like how some of these paintings are monochromatic and some of the paintings use the colors that are opposite of the color wheel.IMG_4974.PNG

Still Life

This is my favorite still life so far as I like the simplicity and the detail of the water.

For this project I want to incorporate shapes and how everything can fit together.  Clean lines, simple, crisp colors, and various shapes all will come together in one space.  I want to play with perspective and shapes to create a simple, beautiful image.

still life- Laura letinsky

Laura Letinsky emphasizes finding a balance.  She does this through photographing the aftermath of a meal.  In her photos, she leaves room for imagination explicate what happened.  In my photo, I wanted to replicate this.  I attempted this by making the apples look like they were about to fall.

Still life

Just like Letinsky my photos are simple but have a strong meaning behind them. This Photo I feel is my best because out of the two photos I have in my folder so far this one speaks to me the most. This photo also gets my point of shooting this series, to show how even the small things in life for you is a big for someone else. I feel like this series I am shooting brings me closer to god because i am more and more thankful for what he has given me. I like the potential all of my photos have to be if i can make these photos as powerful as i want.
This photo is a very healthy and simple breakfast, some who are not as fortunate as me don't get to wake up and eat a good breakfast, instead they either have empty stomachs or eat poor nasty food. Although it's not my favorite food I remember there is always someone who would kill to have just a taste of what i have to eat. I want my audience to feel sympathy and want to help the less fortunate because when it comes to realizing you have what others would kill to have you would want to help.

eggggggg

For this project i am going to expand off of my egg project from last year. I am going to expand on the idea of floating. I also want to  use all types of eggs shapes, colors, sizes.

still life

Out of my two photos I think this one is my best because it shows a less luxurious way of consuming food which is more common for me personally. I like the framing of this photo as well as it showing the stress of homework and home some good old nilla wafers can help with that stress.

For my final still life project as of right now I'm thinking about taking pictures of eaten food that has been eaten in a unusual way. For example I would take a picture of a kit-kat bar that has been bitten from rather than the traditional way of eating it. I want to do this theme because I like this whole idea of a nicely setup picture with a not so nice food object. I feel that this concept could make the audience a little uncomfortable and worrying about the mysterious person that has eaten the food in such unusual ways.

mo's still life

For this project I want to wok with clean lines and simple ideas.  Rather than a still life full with things going on, I want to take a simple conceptual approach.  I want the viewer to get the most the can out of an image that is pastel and bright colors.  Also I want to include a lot of fruits :)

still life

For the still life project I am going to shoot things that are similar to the dutch painter that recreated shapes by using different materials. I want to create a pattern by using food. I want this project to be very clean with strong lines and a clean background. I to transform the food into looking like something else, like wallpaper

Poetics Project

For my item, a stool, I am going to create photos of yoga with calming lighting and backgrounds to represent calmness, rest, and zen. The yoga will represent zen and the calming landscapes .

first project

For my first project, I wanted to use a long exposure and focus on the aspect of chance when photographing. The main ideas/words I am focusing on for this assignment are dizzy and possibilities (chance and change). I am still unsure what the main focus/object in my photos will be.

First Project

For my first project I was assigned a used paper towel.  In my mind map I had several bubbles that related to color.  For my images I am going to be shooting monochromatic portraits.  All my photos are going to be shot in studio.  I am going to have my models in clothing the same color as the background to create a monochromatic effect.

Rain

For my project I wanted to focus on rain and the cleansing/purifying aspect of it.  I plan to shoot some pictures of just rain and focus on the droplets and then shoot some portraits of people in rain.  I might have the rain wash paint off of people or just focus on the simplicity and emotions of being in the rain.

Neon

My object was needle and from there, I will be doing a project based on bright neon colors.  I want to include a very retro and vintage vibe.  The images below show a colorful and vibrant, yet vintage setting.  I plan to mix landscapes, still life, and portraits.

First Project

For my first project, I was given a plastic cup. I came up with the idea of addiction and bad habits. I went from plastic cup to alcohol to addiction to bad habits. I want to work with the more physical side of addiction. I think i want to get some shots of empty pill bottles and a medicine cabinet. I think i might also take some shots of a black liquid in a highballer glass to show the negativity and darkness of addiction. I want to go into the mental side of addiction as well. I want to get shots of someone obsessed with a certain thing and many of those things all together surrounding the person.

FIRST PROJECT!!💁👍😜💗🙈🙉🙊😎
For the first project I am going to photograph pool pictures using the underwater camera. This is related to lightbulb because the sun is light and the pool cools you off in the summer. I want to capture the movement of water and the calmness you feel while in it.

First Project Idea

I plan on taking images of items with pieces missing from them. Some ideas include: A keyboard without a base, a knife without a blade, and a chair without a seat. I plan on using two main methods of taking creating these shots. The first is removing the designated piece and taking the picture. Second, I can take two images, one with, one without the designated piece. I will then merge and edit the two image so it appears that the piece is missing.

First Project Ideas

For my first project my concept is fishing and the nature that surround you while you are fishing.  I will be taking images in the shallow depth of field and some photos will be using stop motion. I will be taking five of the images of the nature that is surrounding you and the next four will be of fishing, but nature will be visible in the background of images.

Rundown of my project

For my first project of the year, I branched my idea out of a paint brush.  I went from paintbrush, to brush, to gesture, to friendly, to relationships, to breakups, to heartbreak. My project is all about the stages of heart break. I plan on creating ten images, hopefully going back and forth from male to female. The stages I have chosen to photograph are, 1) falling in love 2) state of euphoria 3) tension begins 4) fighting 5) breakup 6) anger 7) pining 8) non-stop crying 9) eating feelings 10) new guy/gal
For this project I want to try to do different people's coping mechanisms.  From simple things (for example someone playing with rubber bands, as they are nervous public speakers), to more complicated things that are really dependent on someone's social and home situation.  I'm going to go with the flow, and see where it takes me. :)

Matthews yarn

Ok so for this project I want to capture the entertainment of movie theaters. But I don't want to just want to use just any ordinary movie theater I want to use old fashion/ run down movie theaters.  I also want to use and older fashion clothing instead of a modern form of style.

First photo 2 project ideas

My first project idea is to do photos based on the topic of unity. I am going to get people of different races and cultures and put them together and not tell them what to do and see what happens. I am going to see if they let the stereotypes influence what they do and how they interact.

First Project ideas

For my project I am going to use the concept of disconnection. Im going to show disconnection through people or objects. When I am using people to show disconnection then I will stage a scene where the people are either in some sort of disagreement or being taken away from each other. If I do use objects I might take the word disconnection more literal.
For my project, I got scissors. And from scissors, I got emotions. And from emotions, I got things that make people happy. So, for my project, I will photograph people doing things that make them happy.

Content Of My Project

  1. Man laying on the sidewalk with $50/$100 bills firmly grasped in his hand
  2. Stack euros on top of eachother(make the tower of euros lean a little bit)
  3. Go to Kickbacks the restaurant, and take a well angeled photo of the wall of coins
  4. Close up of a euro(preferably a bigger sized euro)
  5. Put old, antique objects next to an old coin
  6. Place little coins on the surface of a creek/pond

My Final Project- Maya

For my final project, I want to focus on the future rather than the past violence that has gone on in the world. I want to shoot at a park. I want the kids to be dressed for the career that they wish to pursue when they are older. I will have a poster that says "WE ARE THE FUTURE" and have all the kids holding it. This project will represent hope and the generation that we have to raise to be proud of.

Final project

I plan to do a series of photos that show what I like to do. For example hanging out with my friends is one and video games. I wanted to do soemthing that was very seroius but then I realized stick to something I'm good at. What better way to show that than to do what I love to do and capture it. My photos are going to show friendship and the theme of the drive to accomplish a task or have fun.

ideas: unity

For my final project I am going to unity. My theme is how even the smallest peices of a photo or the smallest people/ things in the world can make a huge difference. I want to show how important even the smallest details can be in a photo. It is meant to symbolize/represent how everybody in the world matters and contributes. Most of my photos will be of landscape with lots of parts and details that all contribute to the greater good.

Sarah Sawyer

For my final project I am going to do photos reminiscing famous royals throughout history. I am going to use icons like Elizabeth I, Mary Queen of Scots, and Marie Antoinette. These pictures will show what these people are known for, like Marie Antoinette and her cake. I want to make these pictures look really classy and clean.

Final Project

For my final project I am going to photograph glitter pills.  I am going to photograph both in studio and out of studio.  The glitter is going to be a symbol for happiness.  I am going to be photograph the glitter pills In between someone teeth with a bright colored lipstick on.   I am also gong to photograph the glitter pills in a prescription bottle.

My Final Project

For my last project I want to focus on the Black Lives Matter Movement. I want to break the silence on this issue. I want to make signs and maybe create mock protests that focus on the individual and their sign. I also want to capture the perspective of African American Police Officers on this issue. I will aim to have all ages in these photos because I think that will speak volumes. I think I may make my photos in black and white to create neutral photos that show no color, I think that will be really conducive to my idea/ project.

My Final Project Idea

I am going to take pictures of eyes because they are the window to the soul. I will take some pictures of eyes elaborately decorated with makeup and others plain eyes that are either in a mask(but you can still se them), or have a persons head wrapped in cloth with only the eyes showing. The eyes that are decorated will match something, for example, if I use red eyeshadow, I will put a strawberry next to the eyes to say that that person likes strawberries. The masked or clothed ones will have a deeper meaning that really shows you that persons emotions. Maybe I will use colored contacts and fake  eyelashes to make it even more interesting

my final project is going to be an interesting project, i want to capture how mental illnesses make people feel. this is a subject people don't talk about enough and its sad and you shouldn't be ashamed of it, its like being ashamed that you have cancer its not your fault. you need to embrace it because what else can you do. so i want to capture how it makes you feel that is what i want to shoot.

Designers

For this project, I want to take pictures inspired by some of fashion's best designers.  I also want to take pictures of what these famous designers were inspired by.  I am not sure if I will focus on one designer or just as specific type.  I am thinking of photography ideas inspired by Dolce and Gabbana and Carolina Herra.  If I focus on just one designer, I will take pictures inspired by pervious fashion lines.

For this project I want to use neon colors and lights. I want to capture the electric and energized side of neon lights. I wan this project to be full of energy and color. I want to shoot in arcades and anywhere that has neon lights. I think I want to use kids and adults but not teenagers in this project.
